Concert for EuropeA representative concert took place at the St. Stephen‘s Cathedral in Vienna on 28th April 2009. It was organized by the Embassy of The Czech Republic in Austria on the occasion of the Czech chairmanship in the European Council.

The well-known Brno organist Hana Bartošová appeared on an event called "The Concert for Europe". She performed together with the mezzo-sopranist Veronika Hajnová from the Prague State Opera. The repertoire consisted mainly from works of the Czech composers Antonin Dvořák, Bohuslav Martinů, Petr Eben and Josef Klička. The concert was organised under the patronage of the Vienna Archbishop Cardinal Christoph Schonborn, Minister of the Foreign Secretary of Austria Michael Spindelegger and the Mayor and Governor of Vienna Michael Häupl and it was visited by more than 800 guests of the Austrian cultural life and compatriotic minority, especially by a number of diplomatic corps (more than 40 ambassadors). Austrian media such as Kronen Zeitung or the Radio Stephansdom reported on this event of a great public acceptance.
